We have been in business since 2007.
Janet Moyer is the founder and manufacturer of Custom Dog Carts. Bruce Shryers, a master of metals, makes the carts from the highest quality aluminum. Each cart is hand made to ensure the safety of your dog. We make sure that the cart is perfectly balanced for the dog’s comfort in pulling it. Dog safety is important to us and to ensure it we supply a standard Siwash or Old-Style harness with each order (two harnesses for brace carts).
Since the beginning we have worked to produce new and innovative ideas for draft dog carts. Examples are the Take-Apart Shafts with brakes, instruction booklet, the weight insert, and a conversion kit to change a brace cart into a single cart and back to a brace cart if desired.
Janet got started in draft dog carting after retiring Cloud, a work-a-holic Shetland Sheepdog from sheep herding. He was still young enough that he needed a job to deal with the energy. Cloud loved carting from his first lesson. We then made carts for people in the dog sports community who wanted to do draft carting with their dog(s).
Our dog carts are designed to fit many different breeds (small to giant) and we will be happy to discuss your dog’s requirements. We regret that we do not make carts for Toy breeds.
Carting is fun for the dog and the handler and provides gentle exercise for both.
